Key employee? I am afraid that, apart from a handful of cases, we only realise who are the key employees when they have left: “they played a key role” in the life of our company.
We can experience that some players in the economy have gone that far on the “path of rationalisation” that the functionality of their divisions or functions depend on a single person. And this raises serious questions! How can we recognise key people among the “gray eminence” and the “young titans”?
Our methodology identifies the employees without whom “we would be in trouble if they didn’t come to work tomorrow”. Because they are the real key people.
MOST COMMONLY, THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE FOCUSSED ON IF…
- … the management thinks there will be great trouble if some specific employees “don’t turn up tomorrow”.
- … we would like to see clearly who are our most important employees, who require special attention.
- … 1-2 employees have left the company without whom operation is difficult.
- … we prepare changes.
WHAT DO WE DELIVER? RESULTS OF THE PROJECT:
- Identifying key people: Who are the key people (who are the ones whose sudden exit poses a risk for the present operation of the company?).
- Identifying the risks posed by key people: Why do they mean a risk?
- Identifying the actions through which it is possible to reduce the business risk posed by key people.
